And Now For A Big Snowy Photo Dump

Once every few years, we get snow here in Georgia. Like, actual snow where you can't see the grass anymore and everything is muted by layers of white. A fine powdery dusting is pretty common in the winter, but the good stuff only comes around twice a decade or so and even then it's often accompanied by dangerous, icy roads.

But yesterday a dreary, cold rain that had popped up in the early hours of the morning quickly transformed into the loveliest little snow day you've ever seen, and when we woke up this morning, fat, happy flakes were still falling to the ground. I couldn't help but gasp when I looked out the window. It was so beautiful. Lucy said, "I feel like we're in a snow globe!" It seems she has an affinity for metaphor. Proud mama, here.

After breakfast and coffee, the three of us (plus Bella, who was in H-E-A-V-E-N) bundled up and took a long walk to our local coffee shop, where we sipped lattes and hot chocolate and ate snow cones. (The last of which were handmade by Lucy, of course.) Our neighborhood, which is lovely in its own right, looked downright breathtaking. Then we made our way to the playground where a bunch of other families had managed to get onto the ball fields and run free-for-all in the fresh snow. It was such a sweet surprise to see so many people out walking and playing, seemingly oblivious to the cold. Snow makes children of us all, am I right?

And now, because this post is really just a chance for me to share my snow day memories (like these from when Lucy was just two months old!) here is a big, fat photo dump for you to enjoy.

Oh, and Merry Christmas! (Because now it really feels like it!)
